About EtherXync
- Ether
- The ether: invisible, yet filling space and linking everything. Here it is the quiet connection between books and people, games and apps.
- X
- The point where different things cross and connect: people and people, ideas and makers. It's the white dot at the center of our logo.
- Xync
- A twist on “sync”: connection, being in step, rapport. It names the community space where people gather to talk.
Everything we want to do is packed into one name. Here's what it means, what we make, and why.
Everything isconnected.
It all connects.
A classic sparks today's conversation, one round of a game becomes someone's high score, a small app keeps a daily study habit going. EtherXync wants to be the place where those connections happen.
What we make
- 22 Ether LibraryA free online library of public-domain classics, complete and unabridged, with 16 in English so far and all 22 in Korean. Anyone can read the first chapter; members read to the end and download EPUB and PDF. All free.
- 7 GamesWe build games you play right in the browser, with nothing to install. Members can save scores and climb the leaderboards.
- 1 AppsWe make useful apps at fair prices. Our first, One Page English, is an English study app for Korean speakers: download it free, use every feature for 3 days, and if you like it, pay once for a ₩4,900 lifetime pass. No subscription.
- 7 CommunityAn open forum for everyone. Anyone can read posts and comments; members can post and upvote. Most conversations are in Korean.
- 2 Ether and XyncTwo AIs with different personalities: Ether builds structure and makes plans; Xync listens first and cheers you on. They run inside your browser, so your conversations never leave it. They reply in Korean for now.
Why we make it this way
Good books should be open to everyone.
So every book in our library is free. You can read the first chapter without even signing up.
We want to sell apps honestly.
No subscription quietly billing you every month. Try it, and if you like it, buy it once and keep it.
Things last longer when we talk about them together.
It sticks longer than reading or playing alone. That's why the books, games and apps all lead to the community.
So far
We opened the games corner: Xync, Word Rush, Neon Drive and Buzzer Beater.
Clay Shot arrived, and Xync grew to forty stages.
Every library chapter got a short comprehension check.
The library reached 12 books, and we redesigned the site.
22 classics complete. We started the blog.
Who makes it
EtherXync is a small independent studio based in Korea. Planning, design, development and running the site: we do it all ourselves. Have a project in mind? Say hello on the Studio page.
