About the book

When the wealthy Mr. Bingley takes Netherfield Park, Mrs. Bennet sees a husband for one of her five daughters. His friend Mr. Darcy, richer still, is judged the proudest man in the county at the first assembly, and Elizabeth Bennet, quick and sure of her own judgment, decides she has seen all she needs to see. Over sixty-one chapters Austen tests that judgment, and his, with letters, visits, a scandal, and a proposal that goes very wrong.

This is the complete text, set from the 1894 London edition published by George Allen, which reprints the text descended from the first edition of 1813. Austen’s spelling, punctuation, and italics are kept; the 1894 preface and illustrations are not included. The chapters match our complete Korean translation one for one.

Highlights
